Peter F. Nostrand is President, Greater Washington Region of Crestar Bank.

Mr. Nostrand has spent more than 20 years in the banking industry. He began his banking career in 1973 when he joined Crestar Bank's predecessor, United Virginia Bank, as a management associate. He has held various management positions and was named to his current position in 1995.

Prior to joining United Virginia, Mr. Nostrand was a teacher at Foxcroft School and director of the school's Institute de Touraine in France.

Mr. Nostrand is a member of the board of directors and the executive committee of The Greater Washington Board of Trade. In addition, Mr. Nostrand serves on numerous other boards including the Federal City Council, the Greater Washington Initiative, the Greater Washington Research Center, the Local Initiative Support Coalition, the Pageant of Peace and the Washington Airports Task Force. He is also a member of the Financial Analysts Federation, the New York and Haverhill Historical Societies and the United Way of Greater Washington.

Previously, Mr. Nostrand served on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Fairfax Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he has served as the area coordinator of admissions at Amherst College.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Nostrand received a B.A. from Amherst College and an M. Ed. from the University of Virginia. He also received degrees from the National Commercial Lending Graduate School at the University of Oklahoma and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

Mr. Nostrand and his wife, Nancy, live in Alexandria.
