Mr. Stein has over 35 years of experience in the computer and
communications industry. He recently retired as President
and Chief Executive
Officer of
Netrix Corporation. He joined Netrix in 1987 when it was a
development-stage
startup, backed by venture capital. Mr. Stein led the company through an
initial public offering to its position today as a leading supplier of
international-wide area networking products.
Prior to Netrix, Mr. Stein was a Vice President
with BBN Communications Corporation, initially responsible for Marketing
and
later heading the Professional Services Division. Before joining BBN,
Mr. Stein was a founder of two other start-up companies, Ruben Corporation and
DataRoyal, and spent several years in various capacities with Digital
Equipment
Corp.
Mr. Stein curently serves on the board of directors of two public
companies-- Trusted Information Systems, a network security company
in Maryland and Deltek Systems, a software company in Virginia.
He has a B.S. in Mathematics from Tufts University, and currently
resides with his wife in Great Falls, Virginia.
