Stephen T. Walker is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trusted Information Systems, Inc. (TIS).

Established in 1983, TIS now employs approximately 300 individuals and is a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions for the protection of computer networks, including global Internet- based systems, internal networks and individual workstations and laptops. In addition, TIS develops, markets, licenses and supports the Gauntlet family of firewall products and other network security products, and provides cryptography and security consulting training, advanced research and engineering, and services for commercial and government customers. The company's stock is listed as TISX on NASDAQ.

Prior to founding TIS, Mr. Walker spent 22 years as an employee of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), serving at the National Security Agency, the Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. With over 35 years of experience in system design and program management, Mr. Walker is recognized throughout the country for his work on the DoD Computer Security Initiative, the establishment of the National Computer Security Center and the Defense Data Network.

In 1984, Mr. Walker received the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the first National Computer System Security Award in 1988 and the Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 Award in 1995.

Mr. Walker served as a member on the Congressionally chartered Computer System Security and Privacy Advisory Board, which was established as part of the Computer Security Act of 1987, and has testified before Congress as an expert on computer and communications security.
